Hey guys,

I appreciate all of the positive responses. If it weren't for you guys enjoying my translations, then I definitely would've stopped.

Anyways, I've just finished translating the cunninlingus scene (all scenarios, both sex and story). I've also translated the story bits for the other three options at the bottom of the main menu (BJ, Cowgirl, Footjob). I'm still currently working on the sex dialogue.

Also, I've corrected/changed some dialogue bits. Some of the syntax/grammar really bothered me, so I couldn't help but change it. If you don't enjoy the changes, well, sorry.

My daily updates have been a bit of a coincidence so far. But now, I plan on updating every time I've completed something significant.

Til the next update!
Truly, a god among man, thank you for your time and effort!

Sorry to bother you man, but could you plz do just the main menu for Karen. I'm confident that project's frozen on ice, and it's in a less playable state than even Reimi which came out after. I know you're busy and all but all you'd have to do is the stat page. I can't get ytinasni's program to run. It keeps throwing errors at me for some reason :/
@Aesthetic

I am fairly sure the quick partial I made for it last year covers the main menu (assuming you mean the start screen and not the ability/stat screen), aside the few buttons that are in image format, I even gave people permission to use that partial as they see fit, be it completing it or taking bits and pieces from it.

Adding the skillpoint screen as text file as attachment.

Mind giving me the link? I can't seem to find it.

Ah, my bad, I forgot I took the link down after Karen was crowdsourced and deleted the copy of the partial I had made.
I can make another one on friday, probably throw in the pre fight dialogues for it as well.

The translation project on Karen that seems to be frozen stuck.

@Aesthetic

Finished the Karen's main menu translation on my break, one of the endings is a button instead of modifiable text line, won't be able to do a thing to it, all that needs to be done is the X / Y placement, so the texts won't be cluttered as hell across the board, doesn't bother me that much, but it would be more aesthetic to organize it, also translated the ending reward window and combat window for the most part, buttons once again are in picture format or written in traditional Japanese way, from up to down, left to right, translating those has proven to be tricky, as English doesn't really write out that way, not going to touch those, way beyond my abilities, there might be few typos here and there.

I'll upload the main swf once I get home.

@flurki

Do you have good ideas on what X / Y values would be ideal for the endings and the other scene buttons placement on the main menu?

Or should I leave that for someone else to figure out?

Hey longtime lurker, I just finished the last bit of the Karen translation in the google sheets doc since I had some free time. There's a couple of lines missing from end_4fla and a few inaccurate ones left in seijyo_fla that ill get to tomorrow. I also skimmed through the rest of the sheets to see if there were any missing lines but I didn't see any so In the mean time I was wondering what the fastest way is to get translated lines into the game? I should mention I haven't looked at the parser but there's a function in notepad++ that lets you find multiple strings and replace them with multiple strings all in one go so I was able to get part of cou1 finished in a semi-reasonable amount of time but its pretty tedious.

Lurker here, been here on this thread without an account since Karen came out, just coming out to thank all the translators for taking all the time to translate all the past and current JSK Studio games. I seriously appreciate it. I don't know how I would've played and enjoyed JSK Studio's work without your translations.

Good luck jameson252 !
Any tool is good if it helps us to achieve the translations.

I mentioned in my last posts, that the parser will be able to compare and copy similar lines in multiple .as files. The "compare" part has been achieved in ver3.1, I am preparing it for its counterpart, the "copy" part, in ver3.2.

Awesome, If it helps, the format for finding a replacing multiple strings in notepad++ works like this:

FIND: (find1)|(find2)|(find3)|(...

REPLACE: (?1replace)(?2replace)(?3replace)(...

Where find are the strings you're searching for and replace are the strings you're replacing them with.

I was thinking if the japanese strings could be exported in the "find format" and the english translations put in the "replace" format we could translate entire timelines with a few clicks, because you could copy the whole timeline into notepad++ and use f&r to swap everything out.

I am using vim as editor, it has the same functions.

It's basically what the parser does, with sed as finder and replacer tool. Please have a look on it and the txt files. ( #279 , #250 )
In my case, first the parser replaces all the lines with numbered boxes ( the "extract" function )
, and then it replaces them with translated lines in the .as file ( the "pull" function ).

Hello guys !

The ver3.2 have been done ! Here is its change log :
The compare function have been rewritten : now it writes directly to the txt files.
bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash compare ./file1.as ./file2.as ./file3.as ...
Important : Although it writes to .txt files, you have to put .as files as input.
And you have to put the .txt file for each .as file, in the same directory or just under if the directory where the .as file is, is named "scripts" ( like in the raw and translated txt's zip I had posted ). If not, the compare function will show "Need .txt" then stops.

The copy and delete functions has been added :
bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash copy NumberOfLine1 ./file1.txt NumberOfLine2 ./file2.txt, it copy only the translation part.
bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash delete NumberOfLine1 ./file1.txt
In ver3.0, the compare function can only show for one line its clones in one .as file. And you had to manually fetch the original for copying it over the clones. Now, the compare function writes directly in the txt files.

When detecting clones,
First it duplicates one copy for each involved .as file if the original line has been translated ( has "done" ).

Then, it "signs" the original, meaning it will have multiple "Line XXX" for each clone in the same .as file, and "Clone : ( ... ) : XXX", for each clone in a another .as file. Original lines are defined as the first occurrence of one line, in the order in txt files are read. The most effective order is by alphabetical and by similitude, for example, I always do :
bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash compare ./AAA/scripts/MainTimeline.as ./BBB/scripts/MainTimeline.as ./CCC/scripts/MainTimeline.as ...
The "signature" for the copies, is "Cloned from ... : XXX", written just before their lines "Line XXX :".

Finally, the compare function deletes all duplicates lines in all the input / .as files .

If the compare function is halted, or you just want to know what the compare function had done, redo the compare function with the same .as files, it shows what it does on the terminal.

The most thing to know about the compare function is, for each mix of .as files, the same original and clones hierarchy will occur. That's why it's important to do some compare for testing the similarities of the .as files, then use the same mix of .as files until the translation's completion. Because the compare function will delete all signatures, and all line defined as duplicates, please do some backup before a compare.
Because it would be terrible if some lines with the same "Line XXX " are left while a copy or delete function is executed, they abort if they detected multiples lines or unlegit/broken lines, it is shown in their error messages.

But you can disable this safety if you add some numbers that I named "position" :
For example : bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash copy 123 ./file1.txt 78 ./file2.txt 2 3
Or : bash jsk_parser_v3.2.bash delete 555 ./file1.txt 4

It means I am copying the 2nd occurrence of the line 123 over the 3rd occurrence of the line 78 in file2.txt
Or I am deleting the 4th occurrence of the line 555 in file1.txt .
As always, it's possible to send me .txt files ( I have already all the sk files ), and I will send back the corresponding .as files.
The txt zip, especially the raw one, have been generated only by the parser, please have a look. The resulting swf have been uploaded :

Hey guys,

It's been a bit since the last update. I took a few days off since translating does get very monotonous, but now I'm back to working on it.

I've finally completed the bottom four scenes along with the leg grab (courtesy of donocad).

I've done my best to check for grammar and other errors, but as always, some may still remain.

Also, a little translation note -- there are many times where Miyui addresses the main protagonist as oniisan. On a translator, this would translate to brother, but Miyui and the main protagonist aren't related (as given by the title), they're neighbors. Oniisan is just a way of greeting an older male. In order to avoid confusion, I've eliminated this entirely. In hindsight, I could've left the transliteration, and perhaps I'll do that in a future translation of something else. But for this particular translation I will stay consistent and keep it omitted.

Another thing is that I have to apologize to everyone who's an English major and/or to whoever has OCD. I didn't realize until about a couple of days ago that ellipses didn't actually function as punctuation (at least, not by itself). So I'd incorrectly capitalized the first word at the end of the ellipsis as if though it were a period. I have since utilized them correctly, but keep in mind that there's a decent chunk of text that's grammatically incorrect. I will be leaving them as is, however, as in order to fix them I'd have to sift through thousands of ellipses -- which is something that I obviously do not want to do.

There are only seven sections left to translate after this. I reckon that I'll complete them in the next week or so.

Until then!
